A Brand New Life for Sergio and Rosa 

Amazonian Wednesdays 🌴

Rosa arrived at the retreat campus and immediately became intensely agitated. She had forgotten her meds. “I won’t be able to sleep at all tonight with them!” she exclaimed, nearly hyperventilating. The leaders present began the process of soothing her. 

However, they did not limit their ministrations to simply calming her down. These mighty women have been trained to move in the power of God! In that very moment, they loosed His healing presence into her body. That night, for the first time in years, she enjoyed deeply refreshing sleep, without any medical intervention. 

This was one more step in Rosa’s ongoing metamorphosis. Many dramatic changes in her life were underway. Several months prior, she had been to one of our Women’s Encounters. So remarkable was her subsequent transformation, that her husband, Sergio, was taken aback. When she invited him to church one day, his curiosity about what was happening to her overcame his reluctance. He agreed to accompany her that very night to the service. 

As soon as he walked through the doors of our church, Sergio was amazed. He looked around, wide-eyed, at the exultant congregation. He had never seen such genuine joy in his entire life. Brothers and sisters held their hands high in the air, abandoned to glorious praise. Dancing and shouting and rejoicing surrounded him. Sergio drank it all in, overwhelmed. 

When our time of worship drew to a close, he was equally astounded by the preaching. This, too was fresh and new. In all of his years, he had never heard such penetrating words. They went right into his spirit. As soon as the altar call was given, Sergio’s heart beat hard as he moved towards the front. A few minutes later, he was born again. 

A brand new life has begun for Sergio and Rosa. She tells us that he has become a much more loving, expressive husband. Recently she asked him, “Honey, could we start a cell group in our home?” He instantly and cheerfully replied, “Of course!”
