Old Treasures on Tuesdays đź‘‘

The beautiful news that the Christmas angels announced was that a Savior has been born to us! In an explosion of joy that lit up the night, their voices flooded the sky with jubilant praises. Glory to God in the highest! On earth peace to men!
This good news of great joy is for you, dear one. Daddy God has great joy for you – not modest joy, not muted joy – but great joy! As Holy Spirit exuberantly proclaimed through Zechariah, heaven’s dawn has broken upon us. You don’t have to sit in darkness any more. You no longer need to submit to death’s shadow governing your emotions. Christ the Savior is born! He has come to guide you (yes, you!) into the path of supernatural, enduring peace.
Zechariah’s prophecy is closely related to that spoken by Malachi four hundred years earlier: “But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings” (Mal. 4:2, NKJV).
That time has come. The Sun of Righteousness has arisen. Jesus is born! He is here. He is here to tell you of how tender the mercy of your God is. He is here with healing in His wings. You don’t have to live permanently with searing pain. Jesus the Healer is born to you. Nestle up under His wings; even now He spreads them over you as a mother hen does over her chicks. He draws you in right next to His heart and begins pouring His healing into you. There is very real, very present, very available healing in His wings.
Christ the Savior is born. The Dayspring from on high has come to us! The night was long, but the morning has broken through, and with it, His joy! Sin shall no longer be your master. You are forgiven, dear child. He has taken away your iniquities! His sunrise has undone your darkness. The new day of grace is here – grace that shatters your shackles and sets your spirit free to soar. You are no longer a slave. He is here. He has come. He has been born to you. And of the increase of His peace inside of you, there will be no end!
Merry Christmas, precious child of God. You are the reason He has come!
