Daddy God’s Mind-Blowing Idea

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” (Jer. 1:5, NKJV).

Have you ever had a moment of Holy Spirit inspiration, where suddenly an amazing idea dropped into your spirit? Something so good, so beautifully creative, that it glowed on the inside of you? Something you immediately knew was going to be incredible when you implemented it? Something you could hardly wait to put into action?

Then, dear child, you have a tiny inkling of the joy that welled up in God’s heart when He dreamed you up. Suddenly, inside of Himself, He saw you. In that moment, He heard your belly laughter – your particular, unique brand of laughter – that laugh that no one else in the world has. It shot a thrill through His entire being. He saw the accompanying smile lighting up not only your face, but your whole body. A gloriously happy laugh erupted out of Him when He saw it!

Try to imagine that moment when the idea of who you are dawned on the Creator of the universe. It bubbled up inside Him with intense, ebullient rapture. He saw your eyes. He saw your heart. He heard the music of your voice. Every intricacy of your personality utterly delighted Him. Every detail of your body, soul, and spirit enthralled Him. You were an amazing, flabbergasting, mind-blowing idea. He knew it the instant you were conceived on the inside of Him.

“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us… God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family… This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure” (Eph 1:4-5, NLT).

Listen to that. Way before His voice thundered “Let there be light!”, He had already seen you; He had already intimately known you; He had already come to tenderly, exquisitely cherish you; and He had already chosen you. He had already decided you would be all His.

“This is what He wanted to do.” Precious one, you are wanted. You are deeply, deeply desired. As soon as He dreamed you up, He began to long for you. “God yearns jealously for the spirit that he has made to dwell in us” (James 4:5b, NRSV).

“And it gave Him great pleasure.” That first thought of you immediately filled His heart to overflowing with pleasure. He was bursting with pleasure. Overwhelmed by pleasure. Great pleasure. Enormous pleasure. Choosing you to be His very own was literally blissful to Him.

And all of this before He even got to the execution stage. Before He began to knit you together in your mother’s womb, He was passionately, wholly, sublimely in love with you.

Have you experienced the wordless, overwhelming emotion of seeing a newborn baby, who is precious to you, for the first time? Then you have gotten the tiniest taste of what Daddy God experienced in that moment when He first saw you inside of His heart. When He first thought of you, His Spirit leapt up in recognition that something unspeakably precious and holy had just taken place. Something that was going to make His world unendingly, indescribably, achingly, ecstatically richer.

Dear one, listen with your heart of hearts. You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
