Worship Never Wasted

Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others” (Colossians 3:23, TPT)

Recently, a friend of mind had a frustrating evening. She poured a couple hours of work into a task… only to find that it was impossible to successfully complete. Those hours of effort seemed to be completely wasted.

I encouraged her that, when we offer all of our work unto Jesus as a love offering, none of it is wasted. It is registered in heaven as worship. She found that puzzling, and asked, “How can failure be an offering?”

I replied, “It’s not failure when it’s a love offering unto Him. It’s a fragrant, pleasing gift.”

Still puzzled, she asked again, “How does that work exactly? How does ‘not accomplishing something’ turn into a gift?”
