When Your Sins Are Grabbed Away

Lily’s Baptism

“For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.” (Rom. 6:4, NLT).

I want to share my momma’s joy with you. At our church‘s recent Girls Encounter, my youngest daughter, Lily, was baptized. What a glorious day!

Afterwards, she related her experience with me in these words: “When I got baptized, it felt like someone grabbed my sins and turned everything around.”

Wasn’t that a wonderfully apt description? I eagerly shared with her that I was baptized at the same age as she, nine years old. We had rich fellowship, talking together about walking with Jesus.

At the Encounter, she heard teachings about following Him with her whole heart. “I am also learning to forgive,” she added thoughtfully, reflecting on her time there.
