Sadith could not eat. A mysterious disease was attacking her heart, liver, and kidneys. Her life and vitality were slipping away from her.
“Come to my cell group,” urged her neighbor, Yolanda, who is one of our leaders. “You are wasting away, dear Sadith. You might not be here much longer. Come, please let us pray for you. Jesus loves you so much. He wants to heal you.”
The dejected, pallid woman agreed. She shuffled slowly, allowing Yolanda to lead her by the hand. Gingerly, they entered the house next door. There, a group of eager believers were waiting. Soon, Sadith felt praying hands on her back and shoulders. The atmosphere filled with power. Heaven met earth as those sisters pulled divine virtue into the room with their vivid faith.
That night, Sadith fell into a deep, refreshing slumber. She awoke, amazed. She had not been able to sleep comfortably for a long time due to her illness. She was eager to speak to Yolanda as soon as possible. “I want to go to that Women’s Encounter you told me about!” she blurted out. Her face was alight with new hope.
And go she did. The anticipated retreat took place a year ago. During those three days, Sadith surrendered her life to Jesus. She had a vibrant encounter with the Light of the World, Jesus.
He washed her heart clean of a heavy weight of bitterness she had been carrying around for years. He transformed her into a brand new person. At the same time, she received further healing prayer for the unknown ailment that had been gradually killing her organs.
At church recently, Sadith was bursting with exuberance. “Thank you all for the incredible support you have been for me!” she exclaimed. “You know, I would be dead by now if it weren’t for this church.
“But just look at me. There’s no trace of the illness that almost took my life. I’ve recovered my normal weight. I feel wonderful! You all prayed for me so many times. Even my marriage has been restored. Oh yes, and my business has also begun to flourish. Everyone who sees me is astounded at what God has done for me. They keep telling me how happy I look!”
Truly, my friend, the gospel is good news!
