Amazonian Wednesdays 🌴

November 2019

Pastor Carmen was feeling uncomfortable. A carefully planned leadership retreat was apparently destroyed. Rosa had tagged along.
Rosa was a brand new, baby Christian. No one had invited her. She just decided to come. Carmen didn’t have the heart to ask her to leave. But now she wouldn’t be able to properly teach the leaders present. She would have to bring her teachings down to Rosa’s level.
Unbeknownst to Carmen, God had something marvelous planned. All Carmen could see, though, was a frustrated plan. This situation was looking anything but marvelous.
Then she became even more dismayed when Rosa began hyperventilating.
“I can’t breathe! I’m suffocating!” Rosa tried to cry out, gesturing wildly. She suffered from a weak heart It left her frequently dependent on a small portable oxygen tank. Somehow in her rush to make it to the retreat, she had left it behind.
Carmen and her team gathered around their panicked sister. They were in a remote place, far out of reach of medical assistance. There was only one possible solution. They laid hands on Rosa and began to beseech Heaven.
I’ve got to tell you. When these women pray, they pray expecting an answer. And the answers come. In a matter of minutes, Rosa began to breathe normally. A healthy color returned to her face. A supernatural peace took over her entire being.
This was a year ago. Rosa has not needed an oxygen tank since, nor any medication.
Pastor Carmen is now so very thankful that God interrupted her plans on that wonderful weekend!
And that’s not all. God has also restored Rosa’s marriage. For thirty years, she and her husband had barely spoken a civil word to each other. They lived as roommates, each one living a separate life. Angry exchanges were the only kind that passed between them.
Now that the Spirit of Jesus has infilled Rosa, she has become a new person. Holy Spirit’s intervention injected their relationship with fresh and powerful love. The two of them are now seen holding hands wherever they go. She just can’t stop hugging him!
A restored body. A restored soul. A restored spirit. A restored marriage. Is there anything too hard for our God?

A great reminder to pray expectantly. Our faith can move mountains (Matthew 17:20).

Yes! All praises to our Father forever and ever for all that He has done and all that He will continue to do as we pray this way!

What a great story! And a good reminder that God doesn’t frustrate our plans – He invites us (sometimes with a push 😉) into His because we’re here for Him!
