God is not difficult to please. He is a good, good Father. Throughout His Word, He has generously placed verse after verse telling exuberantly about how He takes delight in His people. If your heart is toward Him, how that fills Him with joy!
This beautiful Scripture from Isaiah teaches us that His delight in us reveals to us who we are. What’s in a name? Identity. What name has He chosen for us? “My Delight is in Her.” He has bestowed on us this core identity: His treasured ones.
In this hurting world, so many, many people grow up in devastatingly painful home environments. From early childhood on, the agonizing blows of life have imparted a false identity to vast numbers of His precious ones. Countless boys and girls, having the word “Abandoned” stamped on their souls, have grown up into lost, searching men and women.
In Jesus, we find a new home, a new family, and a new place to belong. We receive a new name and a new identity in Him. He inscribes a new defining word indelibly onto our inner being: Cherished. Beloved. The one in whom I take great pleasure!
Daddy delights in you. If you have been deeply wounded, He wants to heal you. If someone stamped the wrong word on your spirit, He wants to show you who you really are. His very nature is healing. Please do not settle for living with the pain. If you will seek Jesus for the healing in His wings, He will surely restore your soul!
“The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings…” (Mal. 4:2, NKJV)

Has someone in your life called you a name that makes you feel especially loved? If so, can you picture Daddy God calling you that same name?

Such a good reminder to start the day. Thanks.

Sometimes when we are caught in sin, it is good to remember He still loves us and calls us by name, and will not leave us in sin, but will deliver us. 😇

A great reminder. Thank you. I have been reminded of God many times in my life when I have been called ‘faith’ instead of Faye. I am grateful now that I truly KNOW HIM. Blessings! I remain still like a little child ………….learning lifelong.

That is beautiful, Faye! I know that your name sounds just like the Spanish word for faith, “Fe.” I wonder, does Faye mean faith?
