“What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered” (Matt. 10:29-30, NLT).
Daddy God is in the details. He’s paying attention right now to every single thing happening in your world. Not a sparrow can fall to the ground without Him knowing, and caring deeply. He loves all of His creatures, and He most especially loves you, the crowning masterpiece of His creation.
The passage above goes on to say that you are much more valuable than many, many sparrows. If He gives careful attention to just one of these little birds tumbling to the earth below, how much more incredibly important to Him are the events of your life!
And it’s not just the weighty matters of your existence that He cares about. He is interested in all the little details too. How He loves to be involved in every aspect of your daily life!
A recent occurrence in our family reminded me once again of this truth. My oldest daughter, Ester, picked Abraham Lincoln as the subject of a research paper assignment. In reading about the particulars of his life, she became fascinated with him. This was contagious, as she shared with me the articles she was exploring. I found myself soon drawn into learning about new facets of his legacy that I hadn’t known before.
One morning, she brought the topic up during breakfast. She wondered out loud about what kind of faith President Lincoln must have had? I responded that I didn’t know, but no doubt she could find some information on that matter too.
A few minutes later, I opened my email to read the John Piper devotional that I follow. And wouldn’t you know it… it was all about Abraham Lincoln, and his faith journey. I smiled as I forwarded it to Ester. Daddy God was taking the initiative to answer her question, even though she didn’t ask Him about it directly!
What about you, friend? Do you have something weighing on your mind? Something you are wondering about? Why don’t you ask Daddy about it? He takes such delight in being invited into what matters to you! How it brings Him pleasure when you involve Him in whatever subject is on your mind! When you reach out for Him, you just might be surprised by the ways He will respond…
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known” (Jer. 33:3, ESV, emphasis mine).
“I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!” (Isa. 65:24, NLT, emphasis mine).

Again Thank you. I remember once I had a decision to make. I did not believe God would care. It was about the choice of one out of two meals to purchase. ‘Please help me to choose wisely’ A kind of quick prayer. The scripture ‘This is the Way, walk ye in it’ gently flowed in my mind., as I picked up one.
I did indeed buy the chicken salad. More important than the meal was my heart’s reminder that the Lord was never far away and how I suddenly did not feel so alone as I ate my lunch.
