“This is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the payment for our sins” (1 John 4:10, GW).
Oftentimes we get so focused on our ability (or inability) to serve God adequately that we forget the main point. Today’s verse brings us back to it. Holy Spirit is redirecting our focus. It’s not about what we have done for God, nor what we will ever be able to do for Him. It’s about what He has done, and will continue to do, for us.
