“And beginning with Moses and all the prophets he carefully unveiled to them the revelation of himself throughout the Scriptures. He supernaturally unlocked their understanding to receive the revelation of the Scriptures.” (Luke 24:27, 45, TPT).
The Road to Emmaus story has long been a favorite of mine. I love to imagine Jesus coming alongside these two heartbroken men and walking with them. He comes into their pain, meeting them in the middle of their distress. He asks them sincere questions and listens to their hearts. He connects with them, and then He opens the Word to them. He pours into them exactly what they need to hear. And, at the culmination of it all, He reveals Himself to them.
Isn’t this a perfect picture of what He does for each of us today? Wherever we are, He finds us. He comes to us in our struggles. He walks alongside us and engages us. He encourages us to share with Him what is troubling us. He takes us to His Word and opens up our understanding in new ways.
