Making Space for Listening to Love

“But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm” (Pr. 1:33, NLT).

Who is the “me” in this verse? If you look at the context of the chapter, Wisdom is speaking. All who listen to Wisdom will walk in the promise given here.

The thing is, Wisdom is always speaking. As verses 20-21 express, “Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square. She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate.”

So, not only does she speak; she even shouts and cries out. In other words, God goes to every extent to get our attention. He’ll exert all the strength of His soul to communicate with us and get us the wisdom we need for everything we’ll ever face in life. What is our part, then? To listen.
