“But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm” (Pr. 1:33, NLT).
Who is the “me” in this verse? If you look at the context of the chapter, Wisdom is speaking. All who listen to Wisdom will walk in the promise given here.
The thing is, Wisdom is always speaking. As verses 20-21 express, “Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square. She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate.”
So, not only does she speak; she even shouts and cries out. In other words, God goes to every extent to get our attention. He’ll exert all the strength of His soul to communicate with us and get us the wisdom we need for everything we’ll ever face in life. What is our part, then? To listen.
Once again, Holy Spirit calls out to our hearts, emphasizing how absolutely vital it is that we have “ears to hear.” He longs for us to have a listening posture established as our default. You see, there is a direct connection between becoming habitually attentive listeners, and growing in fearlessness. Read it again. “But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”
Is fear knocking at your door? Fear that harm of some sort may be headed your way? Here, the Lord hands us the most amazing antidote. Growing as listeners. The more time we spend leaning in to listen to His voice, the less room fear will have in our lives. The central quality of His voice is love, and love is what casts fear out of our hearts. Listening to His voice regularly imparts more and more courage to the core of who we are. Then, obediently applying what He has said to us unleashes an abundance of blessing into our lives.
Right now, He has something important to communicate to you and me. He has keys to give us that will unlock countless blessings of righteousness, peace, and joy.

Feeding On Jesus 
This is such a good reminder: to listen. Recently in moving house I have cleared out a heap of old documents including a bunch of schoolwork from early in my childhood. Back then, apparently there was a common theme because many certificates given to me by several different teachers all had listening listed as something I did well!
Something I’m sure I heard somewhere, but maybe a line I happened to put together myself: many people like to listen with their mouths instead of their ears.

Hamish, what a wonderful gift you have! There’s a reason your teachers would give out a certificate like that: you stand out in a crowd when you are a good listener, as such a thing is rare these days! I celebrate that gift that is inside of you, may the Father bless it exceedingly as you draw near to Him and listen for the breathtaking words He has for you personally to hear from His mouth!

Wisdom calls out and those who listen will benefit and grow. We live in a world where there is an abundance of information at our fingertips. Some people chose the path of wisdom while others chose to fill up on junk. Bless you. 🙏🏾❤️
