I want you to pause and listen deeply with your spirit to these words from Jesus’ heart to yours. “Dwell in Me,” He beckons to you. These are not words containing a veiled criticism that you are not paying enough attention to Him. No, dear one. They are ever so tender. “Come in deeper. Stay in Me. Let Me dwell richly in you. Let us drink of our oneness!”
In response to the flurry of activity in your mind, He gently says, “Shhhhh…. Come.” He holds out His arms to you in invitation. Come. Dwell. Stay. Abide. Rest. That “To Do” list? You won’t be able to bear any real fruit without this. Come. Drink. Lean into your connection to the Source of Life and allow His nourishing sap to flow into and through you.
I actually heard Him say, “You won’t be able to accomplish anything really meaningful unless you cuddle with Me first.” Sound strange? If so, then meditate at length on John 1:18: “The only begotten Son… is in the bosom of the Father” (NKJV). In Daddy’s bosom is Jesus’ favorite place to be. He longs for it to be ours too. It’s out of this place that true fruitfulness flows. We literally do not have anything of genuine, lasting worth to offer those around us until we are enjoying real intimacy with the Father.
Now listen to Jesus whisper this to you: “I have loved you the same way the Father has loved me. So live in my love” (John 15:9, GW). “Stay here with Me. Don’t leave My arms. Wrapped up together, we will move throughout the day ahead. Take Me into everything that you do today. Even as you move about here and there, stay in My shelter, under My wings. As I overshadow you, allow your activities to be an overflow of your communion with Me.”
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love” (John 15:9, NIV).

When you imagine Daddy God, what do you see in His eyes?
