The Becoming Is in the Beholding

“But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (2 Cor. 3:15-17, NKJV).

How I love to imagine Moses’ story! What must it have been like, up there on the mountain, face to face with God? Then when his countenance was shining resplendently with the glory of God, the need to cover himself with a veil! What did that look like, that the Israelites could not bear to set eyes on him otherwise? That they could not handle taking in so much glory?
