Amazonian Wednesdays 🌴

January 2005
*********************
Our missions school students have begun reporting in on their jungle practicum (mostly via short-wave radio), as they have been on site in different village locations since October. Here are a few of their testimonies so far:
-
Leny and Vilma shared with our leadership in Iquitos that they have been working hard in Lagunas, a town of about 8,000 people along the Huallaga River. When they arrived there, Leny, age 22 said to Vilma, age 19, “I will work on evangelizing the villagers, and when I bring them to the Lord, you can work on counseling them and ministering restoration to them from all the hard things they have been through.” However, Leny has been bringing so many of them to the Lord that Vilma says she is overwhelmed with all the pastoral work! The two of them have been implementing the G-12 model in that area, and have already brought more than 120 new souls into the church through the cell group strategy.
-
Elías and Níver, aged around 45 and 22, have been itinerating along the Pastaza River. They have worked evangelistically in five different villages and won more than 400 people to the Lord. They are about to start a new church with as many of those new converts as possible.
-
Leodán and Loidí, a couple aged about 27 and 24 years old, have started a new church in the town of Requena, a town of 20,000 people on the Ucayali River. These two received healing from the Lord this last year in their marriage and are serving the Lord with new- found energy. They did not have anyone besides each other to work with in this church plant, but in just two months they already have forty new converts plugged into their little flock.
We praise the Lord for the joy of working in fields ripe for the harvest!

Thank you for continuing to share these accounts and testimonies from the past. It’s so encouraging to read what God has done, and it reminds me what’s still in His heart for people!
