Principal Leads Her Staff to the Feet of Jesus

Amazonian Wednesdays 🌴

Nora couldn’t take it anymore. At the school where she is the principal, all day long she was hearing a steady stream of negativity. “The staff wouldn’t stop focusing on their aches, pains, tiredness, and the blazing hot weather. They were making sure everyone around them knew how stressed they were and how many pills they had to take,” she recalls.

Nora is an active part of our church, and she knows the power of God firsthand. She decided it was high time to shift the atmosphere of her school. She organized a retreat out to our Missions School campus, inviting all the teachers under her leadership. An outstanding leader, she has built strong relationships with each of them. They are eager to follow her lead. Amazingly, eighteen unsaved teachers from that secular work environment were willing to join her for a time of seeking God together.

Upon their arrival, she began with her testimony. “I was gravely ill. I came so close to dying. But God! He completely healed me. I am so very alive! I am older than all of you, but He has given me such wonderful health. He will do the same for you.” She went on to preach Christ crucified to them. She joyfully expounded on all the blessings available to us through His salvation and lordship.

She then invited them to write down on slips of paper everything they wanted to surrender to Him. She explained about forgiveness of sins, both their own and those committed against them. She encouraged them to write down each offense as an act of confession and relinquishing. She had them make note of generational curses, and also of illnesses they wanted to ask God to heal.

When they had done so, they built a bonfire together. In unison, all of her teachers prophetically burned their sins and sicknesses in the soaring flames. What an amazing sight it was, as all these men and women with no previous faith joined in!

School has become a different place indeed. Now Nora leads prayer meetings there all the time. She has received no resistance about doing so at a secular workplace. In fact, there is so much favor on her that she has been asked to start a brand new school!

The best news of all came soon after the retreat. Nora had long been crying out in prayer for her daughter Silvia, who lives in another city. Silvia had completely rejected God. She wanted nothing to do with Him… but God! Nora called her up on the phone to tell her about the new school in the works.

When she asked how Silvia was doing, Silvia excitedly shared, “Really well, Mom! Some believers visited me in my home. I suddenly found this strange new desire to go to church. Now our whole family has joined the one they invited us to. It’s absolutely wonderful.” Hearing this, Nora burst into tears of joy.

Truly, God is a God of wonders.
