“God began by making one person, and from him came all the different people who live everywhere in the world. God decided exactly when and where they must live” (Acts 17:26, NCV).
Yes He did! God decided exactly when and where He would place you on the map, and on the timeline of history. As a result of His extremely specific intentionality, you are alive in 2020 in your city, in your family, in your home.
Why?
Amazing. He did it, all for the express purpose of connecting with you. Before He decreed, “Let there be light” and began calling the world into existence, He foresaw this moment. His eyes gazed forward, considering every possible century, every possible geographical locale, and every possible gene pool. Scanning every one of them, His eyes then fell on this precise set of circumstances. In His infinite wisdom, He said, “Yep. There it is. The place. The time. The family. That’s where I’m going to put this cherished one. That’s where they are going to find Me.” (By the way, He even saw you reading this blog post 😊.)
Look at that last part of the verse. “He is the God who is easy to discover.” Think of a daddy playing hide-and-seek with his toddler. He sticks his foot and half of his leg out of his hiding place so she knows exactly where to find him. She tackles him gleefully as he sweeps her up in his arms, delighting in her. That’s our Daddy God. He’s just waiting for you to seek Him out. He is overflowing with anticipation of the moment He gets to reveal Himself to you. He’s been waiting for it for all of eternity! Seek, and you will find. Discovery of His heart awaits you today.

Great post! I love how you put this together…thank you! It is a perspective that we do not often think about. Fortunately, God thinks of everything and His plans are perfect. We must trust in His divine wisdom.

What a privilege to be chosen to live through this time! God has a reason for each of us to be here – I pray we may fulfil his plan for us and offer comfort, encouragement and the good news of the Gospel to those around us as this strange time unfolds. 2020 has been a tough year, but one filled with different kinds of opportunities. I have found myself closer to God and seeking Him more oftwn. This has certainly benefited me greatly.
