Old Treasures on Tuesdays 👑

“If a man begets a hundred children and lives many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not satisfied with goodness… I say that a stillborn child is better than he” (Eccl. 6:3, NKJV)

This verse is intense. Solomon here expresses the conviction that a long life is completely empty of value if the one living it is not “satisfied with goodness.” He flatly insists it would be better to have emerged from the womb already dead than to continue our frenzied routine activities void of this essential ingredient.
