On the Peruvian Andes, God Speaks

Praying with a precious indigenous woman during our mountain adventure. She received healing and salvation!

 

“Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you…’” (Zech. 1:3, NIV).

I recently had the pleasure of a quick trip to the mountains of Peru with some dear friends. One of them brought her daughter along, whom I will call Esperanza for the purpose of this devo. Esperanza has in recent months been rediscovering her relationship with Jesus after quite a number of years away from Him. Her time in Peru was a very significant milestone on this journey.

When she heard that I love the subject of dream interpretation, she began sharing with me some of her dreams. As the week went by, she confided several of them to me. Each time, Holy Spirit gave me something to share with her about them. Then, when the time came for us to head to the mountain city of Cuzco, she had a new dream.

Upon arrival, we strolled through the streets of the city as she told me about it. In the dream, she had heard the song “Baby Come Back” playing. There were several other details too, and Holy Spirit unpacked them for me so I could explain them to her. He also gave me several Scriptures to show her that tied into the imagery of the dream.

One of them was “Return to Me, and I will return to you” (Zech. 1:3). The essence of this verse is what Holy Spirit was communicating through the song she had heard in the dream. His Spirit was calling out to her spirit, Dear one, come back to My heart, to My arms!

The main theme of her dream was that He was wooing her to Him. I was able to share with her about how He calls us to continually turn our hearts back to Him, each time we get distracted by the circumstances of life. He eagerly receives us into His embrace each and every time.
