A young lady returns from an Encounter weekend to the tearful welcoming embrace of her mother

Elida was at the end of her rope. After many unhappy years of marriage, divorce was looming on the horizon, looking like an inescapable finality. But God! Everything changed when she went to our lady’s Encounter Weekend, a two-day event outside the city designed to minister to the deep hurts of women. 

At the Encounter, Elida learned about forgiveness and loving her spouse unconditionally. She learned about the inner freedom Jesus gives us through His Spirit, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. The Lord ministered to her profoundly during that time away, pouring His love and healing into the wounded places inside of her. She returned home a different person. 

The next week, Elida’s son Jonathan watched as Elida cleaned the house with a new joy in her step. He puzzled over the change in her, as he had seen her move about their home for such a long time with her shoulders stooped and an anxious look on her face. He could not resist his curiosity, and as a result, soon she had the opportunity to share with him what God had done in her heart. 

Soon after the Encounter, Elida opened a cell group in her home. Now she is inviting all of her neighbors and unsaved friends to come and listen to the story of Jesus in her living room. Jonathan was so impacted by the change in his mom that Continue reading A New Beginning
