Obedience

 

(Today’s devotional is a continuation of yesterday’s!)

“Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me; in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book’” (Heb. 10:5-7, ESV)

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship” (Rom. 12:1, NIV).

Our body is the instrument through which our soul and our spirit operate. Our soul consists of our mind, will, and emotions. Our spirit is the core of us, the place where the Spirit of God has taken up residence and become one with us (1 Cor. 6:17).
