“…Every prayer of the righteous is pleasing to his heart” (Prov. 15:8, TPT).
Someone reading these words today needs to hear this: your prayers please the heart of the Father. Every single one of them. Maybe you don’t think they are very eloquent. That couldn’t matter less to God. When you point your heart in His direction, it steals His away. Do you know that? You have stolen His heart.
You may feel like your efforts to serve Him are feeble and terribly imperfect. Don’t worry. He anticipated that with you and me. He let us know ahead of time that we are just fragile jars of clay (2 Cor. 4:7). Knowing He made us this way, He has incredible patience with our frailty. It doesn’t require an impressive performance to please Him. All it takes is a heart that earnestly wants to seek after Him.
Have there been days when all you could muster in prayer was “Help!”? Me too. And you know what? Yep, that prayer counts as a fulfillment of today’s verse. “…Every prayer of the righteous is pleasing to his heart” (Prov. 15:8, TPT). That S.O.S. prayer pleases His heart very, very much. It means so much to your Father that you cry out to Him in times of need! You are showing that He is your God; that your dependency and faith are in Him. This steals His heart.
You may protest, But this verse says the prayers of the righteous please Him. I don’t feel very righteous. For example, just a few minutes ago, I snapped at someone.
Well, Jesus says you are righteous. My friend, have you received His sacrifice on the cross for you? If so, He has imputed the gift of righteousness to you. He became sin so you could become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21). That is now who you are. Righteousness is what God sees when He looks at you. Therefore yes, you are among “the righteous.”
Receive that today. Each and every one of your prayers please Him greatly!

Is God hard to please? Easy to please? What do you think?

Yes it is easy to please God. I have found this to be true. And always in amazement of His love. Thank you for this post that is a continual reminder that our righteousness is from God and God alone. 💖

Amen! It feels humbling to be called righteous. When I only look at my transgressions, I sometimes see a darker me. Thankfully, our Lord Jesus forever defeated our death from the flesh on that lonely, bloody cross at Calvary. Blessings Jennifer for sharing this timely witness of our Father’s grace.

This is a message that I need reminding of on a regular basis. To pray is something beautiful to God, abs he desires to hear our prayers.
Thank you for this reminder. 🧡
P.S. My post about our wedding is still in the works.
