
“I know that my redeemer lives… in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!” (Job 19:25-27 NIV).
Job prophesied the above words over himself. Not only that, but he did this prophesying during the worst moments of his life. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you everything that had gone wrong for him. His suffering is the most notorious of the Bible, and perhaps of all of human history… as is his healing and restoration!
Twenty-three chapters later, this prophecy of his had come to pass. Overcome by the encounter he had just had with the Almighty, he uttered, “My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you” (Job 42:5, NIV). How amazing is that?
