Zero Failure Risk

“He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended” (Ps. 62:2, NET).

What a wealth of treasure there is to be found in this verse! Let’s first take a look at a couple of the phrases in the original language. The word “protector” here comes from the Hebrew, “my high rocky summit.” Likewise, the word “refuge” in Hebrew is “my elevated place.”

When we live out of the place He has given us, we are protected, untouchable. Hidden with Christ. Under the shadow of Shaddai, the Almighty. Tucked snugly under His wings.

Let His Word speak to your heart today that you are safe in Him. He has bought your security with His blood. Just as a high rocky summit is out of reach, so you are out of the reach of your enemies. When you draw near to God, His presence wraps around you as an impenetrable shield. He is the shield around you. The TPT rendering of this verse expresses it beautifully too:

“He alone is my safe place; his wraparound presence always protects me. For he is my champion defender; there’s no risk of failure with God. So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me?” (Ps. 62:2, TPT).

His wraparound presence… is that not such a lovely way to describe His closeness that keeps us safe? It “always protects me.” My champion defender!

And there’s no risk of failure with God. He’s been emphasizing this to me over and over and over again recently. He’s never failed you and me. He never will. He’ll never let us down. It’s impossible, for it would Continue reading Zero Failure Risk
