The Breath of God

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63, NKJV)

Have you ever, in your Bible reading, come to a verse that you had seen a hundred times before, and suddenly, it has brand new meaning for you? What is happening there?

That is the breath of God. The word “Spirit” in both Hebrew and Greek means wind, or breath. The Holy Spirit is breathing into your spirit the meaning of what you are reading in the Scriptures. He is taking the written Word and feeding it to you as truth transferred right from the heart of God to yours.
