Created for God’s Pleasure

“…For thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created” (Rev. 4:11, KJV).

You were created by God Almighty, the One who was, and is, and is to come. You were His idea. He brought you forth because He willed for you to exist. Why? “For [His] pleasure.” See it there? The whole reason you exist is this: your existence brings happiness to the Creator’s heart.

That’s why He made you. That’s why He dreamed you up before the world began. That’s why you are alive today… because you delight God’s heart. Your existence means real joy and deep pleasure to His soul.

If you take a look at the context of this Scripture, it’s the worship that the twenty-four elders ever pour out to God. It’s the overflow of their hearts as they fall down at His feet, casting their crowns before Him. They are in ecstatic awe of Him.

Their adoration overflows as they behold Him, the Maker of everything. Isn’t it kind of amazing that you are mentioned in this context? “Thou hast created all things…”, they exclaim. All things – that includes you.

You are part of the crowning masterpiece of His creation. Humanity’s birth was the exquisite climax that came on the sixth day of creation week. Everything else led up to that moment. Angels held their breath as humans came into existence, looking like the Almighty. And then, there you were in the midst of them, made in His likeness, in His very own image. You.

The twenty-four elders know. A Creator who creates things as stunning as you is worthy of highest praise and deepest worship.

Let’s join them! “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well” (Ps. 139:14, NIV).

Would you take a moment and praise Him with me? Thank You, Jesus, for creating me for Your pleasure!

Do you know that your love for the Father brings great joy to His heart?
