The Unrivaled, Unbeatable, Unequaled Strategist

Computer chess

“You meant to hurt me, but God turned your evil into good…” (Gen. 50:20, NCV)

Does it sometimes seem like the attacks of the enemy are nonstop? Not a one of them takes our God by surprise. He saw every one of them before the world even began, and He planned ahead for each. This is why no weapon formed against you could possibly prosper.

Have you ever played chess with a computer? A PC is a daunting opponent to take on because of how intricately and far ahead it can calculate strategy. No matter how you maneuver your pieces, the computer has pre-planned a veritable plethora of ways to defeat any potential move you might make.

Our fiercely loyal Advocate is infinitely more savvy than the most brilliant computer. There’s absolutely no comparison; there’s simply no way the devil can win. No matter what move the adversary might try against you, Jesus has worked out for you the perfect path to stunning victory. What comfort you can draw from understanding that the Unbeatable Heavenly Strategist is in charge of all your battles! You win. Every time!

“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.”
(Rom. 11:33, 36; NIV)

Do you have an experience you can recount of God turning something the devil brought against you, into something amazingly good?

  1. One time I was stopped by a police officer when I was away from the Lord. He was going to take me in for questioning and I “remembered” a verse from the Bible that I have no memory of every memorizing before that time: Proverbs 28:13 “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”
I found mercy from multiple resources because I believed the Word of God.

    1. Wow! That is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing it. It reminds me a little bit of an experience I had back in 1994 on a missions trip I was on to Ecuador. I had taken two years of Spanish in a secular high school, so obviously we were never taught any spiritual words in our classes. But somehow God enabled me to communicate the gospel to people in Spanish on that trip, using words I had never studied like heaven and hell. They just came to me!

  2. Thank you. Comforting reminder. I am working on writing this year my Memoirs and with heartfelt thanks remembering how easily the enemy could have ‘taken me out’ but God’s turning it and using it for His Purposes. Great blog post!

  3. I love this! I know this and I believe this and yet it feels great be reminded of it. It is in my heart, and today you reminded my head. Thank you 😉 What an amazing God we serve!

  4. Working through very low ebbs of depression has served as a reminder that there is hope, and God freely offers it. I am in a better place to talk with others about darkness they might be experiencing. I will not understand it as each is as individual as the people within, but I can offer a helping hand, or simply sit with them in the darkness and just be a presence for them. It’s not perfect, but God doesn’t call me to be perfect, He calls me to be a presence of hope. A visible light to show the way for others to seek Jesus, but not too bright as to startle those who have been travelling in their own darkness a long time.

Everyone is worthy of time. ❤
