Passionate Like God

Joyful Jump

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” (Col. 3:23, NIV).

God is a God full of passion. He made us in His image. This means that we were designed to be passionate like Him. If we live our lives just to be comfortable, or just to meet the bills, we will find ourselves greatly dissatisfied. Creature comforts and entertainment only go so far. They can never truly fill the yearning in our souls to live out God’s Great Adventure.

Have you discovered what unique giftings and talents that God placed inside you? In the entire universe, there is only one you. No one else can bring to this world what you were born to offer. And until you discover the unique design He put inside of you, you will languish.

Find out who you are. What makes you come alive? Don’t settle for life without that fire. God’s Great Adventure awaits you. When He tells us “whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,” He knows. He knows that this is the only way we will feel truly alive.

You and I were born for passion.

What does it feel like, when you find the thing you were created to do, and you do it with all your heart?

  1. What does it feel like to be living out your God-called purpose? My answer is that the feeling(s) change. Blessedly, God never does!
When I stepped away from full-time secular work to do ministry full time, the overwhelming feeling was one of being overwhelmed! As the 4+ years have passed from that time, my heart and mind is much more aligned with God’s heart, which make the prevalent feelings to be security (in Him) and seemingly boundless willingness to do what ever it is He calls me to today (this also from Him).
I close with the wisdom that wife often shares: “The more I come to know God, the more I know I need him.” This true in my life and it brings unquantifiable peace and joy.
    Blessings to you Jenn,
    Your brother in Christ,
    Chuck

  2. For much of my teenage years and early twenties I was searching for something, and I didn’t know what that was. A friend at university hostel I was living at at the time asked, “Is it a God hole?” I didn’t think much of it at the time, but years later I realised it to be true. It is a wonderful realisation and one which God gently reminds me of when I need it. Now when I pick up a pen and write, or I play music, I feel I am where I’m meant to be. I felt especially blessed being part of the music team this morning as we had a young bassist playing for the first time. They were enthusiastic and already keen for next time. 😊 God is good! Thank you sharing.
