Within this Scripture lies another spiritual picture crucial to the times we are living in. Isaiah describes for us an abundant water supply right in the middle of a drought. What is a drought? A time of scarcity. A time when supplies dry up. A time when everyone around you is thirsty and in need. Right now is a time of spiritual drought on the earth. Everyone around us is thirsty for hope.
In the midst of it, here is His promise. When we walk in close intimacy with Him, we will enjoy an unbroken connection to the Source of all life. We will not only drink from, but actually become, springs of water whose water never fails. This means that His presence will perpetually fill us up to the point where others can receive a supernatural refreshing touch through contact with us.
If we really believe this Scripture, then we receive this revelation: in Him, we can be immune to a spiritual drought happening around us. Even when chaos is happening in our world, we can walk daily in the Spirit with a perpetually satisfied soul. As Jesus told the Samaritan woman, when we drink of His water, our spiritual needs will be richly quenched. The Greek rendering of His words to her is delightfully emphatic: we will never be thirsty forever! (John 4:13).
An article that I read recently stirred up my faith for living this kind of Holy Spirit-saturated lifestyle. It told of John G. Lake, who was empowered by God to spread the Kingdom in the midst of the bubonic plague. The pandemia of his time could not touch him. Doctors were stunned when they placed bubonic plague foam from an infected person on his skin and watched under a microscope. The microbe died immediately upon contact with him!
The closer we walk with Jesus, the more His supernatural radiance will move out through us and dynamically impact the world around us. This is a time, dear one, to rise up in the strength of His might and boldly share His fear-eradicating love with the precious souls around us.
Jesus has what the world needs right now. There is no scarcity in Him. There is no drought in Him. Fountains of hope spring up in abundance from His heart! No fear or disease can stand before the majestic presence of His love glory. Let’s drink deeply of the waters that are ours in Him, and move through our days overflowing with them… that everyone we encounter may receive His refreshing, healing touch!

In what specific ways has Jesus been comforting your heart during these challenging times?
Amen 🙏🏽. May we live spirit saturated lives like that so that fear does not take root in our hearts when there is so much uncertainty and chaos around.
Thank you for sharing this today.
Stay safe 😊💙.

Thank you for being a voice of His truth when so many feel the need to spread negativity. I love the fact that one of God’s names is Jehovah Rapha – God our Healer! We can count on Him not to violate His character or any aspect of His name. Surely John Lake knew Him by this name and that corruption and death would wither in His presence.

Amen…..I love this..”If we really believe this Scripture…..
Thought of this passage as I read this message…
“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind….2 Timothy 1:6-7
