God’s unsearchable wisdom makes Him a masterful administrator. Not only does He do an impeccable job running the universe, but He also manages the resource of you quite adeptly. Yes, you are His resource. This does not mean that He views you as an object to be used; on the contrary, He cherishes you more than His own life. He takes very seriously the wise stewardship of what is most precious to Him. For this reason, each one of Your days was written in His book long before even one of them came to be.
God asks us to be good stewards because we are made in His image. And He is the ultimate Good Steward. If you have put your life into His hands, He had solemnly and eagerly taken on the job of stewarding it. If you have also asked Him to use you for His glory, He has heard that prayer and is answering it. He’s actually been using you more than you realize… because He is that good of a steward of His resources, that good of an administrator.
When you think about your service to Him, you no doubt see its imperfection. (I know I do when I mull over my attempts to be faithful to Him). However, the determining factor in the equation is not your capability, or mine, to serve Him well. Rather, it is His proficiency. He takes what we entrust to Him, breathes His power into it, and multiplies it exceedingly beyond what our minds can understand.
Consider this. If He can use a donkey like Balaam’s, or a pagan king like Cyrus to work His wonders on the earth… how much more a life eagerly submitted to His heart! If you have given yourself over to Him for His service, then you can trust this surety: the weight of what He is doing through you has implications that will ripple on through eternity.
Don’t ever forget the reason why. The imprint of your life on those around you is so much more than the sum of your abilities and efforts to live effectively for Him. It’s JESUS, in all of His splendor, that is radiating from within you! The Light of the World is reaching with His rays through you to people you have no idea you are impacting.
With unsearchable wisdom, He is stewarding what you have committed to Him. When the end results are tabulated at the end of the ages, you will be astonished!
What comes to mind when you picture God as a steward? As an administrator?
