The Impenetrable Blood Shield

Blood drop

“So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived” (Num. 21:9, NKJV).

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:14-15, NKJV).

This morning I believe the Lord would have me share with you another excerpt from my journal. It follows in my usual style, which is in prayer format to God. This was revelation that He was downloading to me about the staggering power of Jesus’ blood covering over our lives:

“You told me that Your blood is not just a by-instance solution to fixing the problem of sins committed, but an actual shield around us, constantly covering us so that sin and the effects of sin may not penetrate our spirit. Your blood is constantly present with me, a permanent solution to my imperfection, instantly cleansing me as soon as I lift my eyes to You, my crucified and risen Lord.

“I may only approach You through Your blood. So as soon as I draw near to You, Your blood immediately works for me. Which is shown here: ‘Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus… let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience…’ (Heb. 10:19-22, NKJV).

“You are so eager to cleanse us, in our conscience. The very instant we run into Your arms, Your blood is the agent for this truth: ‘…he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him’ (1 John 5:18, ESV).

“Your blood avails for me in every moment, and this is why the enemy cannot harm me. He has no access. Your blood has cut him off. Reminds me of the endometrium lining of the womb, surrounding the growing life within and imparting life to It.

“So, Your blood is not this last-ditch intervention we have to crawl and beg for as the prodigal son mistakenly thought; rather, it’s an eternally, abundantly flowing fountain of life ever pouring into us, constantly nurturing us with cleansing, blessing, strength, and life.

“Repentance means turning our back on sin, turning away from our failure, and turning toward You, the fountain of forgiveness, cleansing, and life. They looked on the bronze serpent and were healed. We look up to You, lifted up, to the cross, and in that instant, we are cleansed, purified of all unrighteousness.”

Do you need cleansing today? Don’t hesitate — plunge yourself beneath the crimson flow! Look up to Him and receive His forgiveness instantaneously! Right now, He will wash all your sins away!

How does this revelation of the blood of Jesus impact you?
